Bronksi's anemist, Mark Gjonaj, has accepted money for his campaign by two people convicted of money laundering in connection with drug trafficking and for a scheme for arms trafficking AK-47 and a rocket launcher in Kosovo, data show.
Donors, Martin Shkreley and Dzevat Gocaj, have told Johnaj through accounts of his campaign for Assembly and City Council, reports “York Post”
Both are mentioned in a lawsuit filed at the Federal Court in Brooklyn suspected of extortion, money laundering and drug trafficking that led to automatic weapons sales, a rocket launcher and an M80 anti-tank zoo missile against secret law enforcement officials.
The letter from Bedford, New York, has donated Johnaj 1,000 dollars through his City Council campaign committee on March 10th, data shows, Time.net broadcasts.
The trigger is accused of offering “to clean money for Andre Veliun, also mentioned in the 26 July indictment for allegedly selling rocket launchers and automatic weapons. According to judicial data presented in June, Veliu boasted that his cousin is Alex Rudaj, who “is widely recognised as leader of Albanian organised crime in New York”.
The book refused to comment.
Gocaj owns the restaurant “Il Tinello Ristorante”, who has donated Johnajt 1,000 dollars in January for the Assembly.
Gocaj and Veliu are supposed to have discussed money laundering during a wiretapping call, the court's data shows.
Gjonaj will face Marjorie Velazquez and John Doyle for a seat at the Bronx Council, which will soon be released by Council member James Vacca.
Johnaj's spokeswoman, Jennifer Blatus, has said: “Mark Gjonaj is focused on his presentation to his voters about how he will fight for their interests”.
