She has made it known after the meeting held today in Brussels in the middle of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vuciq, where, according to her, both have agreed to this.
That day, judges, prosecutors and judicial staff will be integrated into the Kosovo Judiciary. Integration of the judicial staff will allow justice to be distributed through Kosovo and, in particular, in the Mitrovica region”, said in a statement to the media of European top diplomat.
The justice agreements between Kosovo and Serbia have never been implemented. The first justice agreement was even reached on April 19, 2013.
Even a implementation plan was designed, which if the justice system in the north were implemented now, would have been operational for at least three years.
Even more, Kosovo and Serbia have entered into yet another justice agreement on February 9, 2015. There the parties have once again agreed on the composition of courts, facilities and departments.
But, despite this agreement, the justice system in the north still remains dysfunctional, even as the latest deadline for implementation of the deal was January 10th this year.
