The resolution adopted by a United Nations Cultural Agency committee also puts them on the list of locations considered “at risk of”.
The tomb of patriarchs, also known as the mosque of Abraham, is honored by Jews, Muslims, and Christians as the tomb of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
It is the second most holy place in Judaism and the fourth in Islam.
Over 200,000 Palestinians and several hundred Israelites live in the Old City of Hebron.
Israeli Prime Minister Benyman Netanyyaah said that his decision U n NESTO is a “illusion”, while the Palestinian Foreign Ministry named it “successful diplomacy”
