The trial hearing against 35 accused policemen, 15 from the southern Mitrovica station and 20 police officers from the north, have been put off indefinitely, who are accused of misusing official office and taking bribes.
This session, which due to the large number of participants was held today at the Culture Centre in Mitrovica, was postponed due to the lack of one of the accused, Manojlo Vladskovic, who was absent due to health causes respectively.
According to the chairman of the panel, Avni Mehmeti, conditions have not been met in keeping this court hearing, while demanding that procedures for police officers from the north station, be singled out due to the efficiency of the course.
Prosecutor Zeynep Kela agreed with the proposal for isolation of the procedure, while some of the lawyers rejected the proposal.
Lawyer Musa Damatti has said the real fight for corruption should be initiated by the heads of this society. According to him, the procedure should not be isolated because of the interests of justice in the first place, as well as because of the unique system that exists on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
Damat: We have to start the real corruption fight with the cancerous heads of this society.
I as a lawyer in this criminal case continue to think that the real fight of corruption should start with the cancerous heads of this society... As for isolating the procedure... my opinion as a protector in this criminal case is to continue with no isolation of the procedure. This is due to the interests of justice and because of the unique system that exists in the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo”, Damati stressed.
Otherwise, 35 suspected police officers were arrested in December last year in a move during which a total of 59 police officers ended in handcuffs.
