Although the Demarket Agreement with Montenegro has been signed for more than two years, Kosovo has not ratified it yet. As a result, Kosovars continue to remain the only isolated people in the region without visa liberalisation, the Zeri newspaper writes today.
However, for delays in implementing this agreement and isolation of Kosovars Montenegro says they are not guilty.
Montenegro's European Integration Minister Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic, in a brief interview given the newspaper “Zeri”, in Dubrovnik, has said that Montenegro has no problem with this agreement, so it has long ratified it in its parliament.
“Montenegro has no problem with this agreement”, Pejovic has said.
Asked by “Voice” about candidate statements for coalition prime minister PAN, Ramush Haradinaj, that this agreement will not pass into the form it is in and how you see the way the issue ends, Pejovic is expressed reserved. “E knows, but I can't talk about it because it's an internal political issue of Kosovo”, he said.
The Montenegrin minister has expressed himself reserved even about the possibility of renegotiating this agreement after the new institutions are formed in Kosovo.
This is a question for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I can't really comment on this”, he said. However, it has not expressed restraint in terms of relations between the two countries. According to him, they're good.
I can say that relations between the two countries are good. We have signed a number of agreements and started co-operation in practice”, he said, showing details of the finalisation of a concrete project between the two states.
We have also talked today with Minister Mimoza Ahmetaj about finalising an agreement between the two states on establishing a joint committee that would deal with exchange of experiences between the two countries. Montenegro could give Kosovo its experiences regarding the IPA, use of funds, and also create a system with colleagues in Pristina”, Pejovic has said.
In this context it has shown that every month officials from Pristina go to Podgorica to get acquainted with labour practices there. “Every month we already have someone from Pristina coming to Podgorica to discuss how we do things, our practices, they sit with our colleagues in the ministry. So there are many practical possibilities for cooperation and this is very good”, it's over, Peovic. /Zeri/
