Local official in Khiber County, Niaz Muhammad, said the girl named Nagma left her home in the village of Kadej on June 23rd, before being prevented by security officials.
Muhammad said that Nagma has surrendered to the family, which has promised she will not be harmed.
But, the official said the girl was killed “due to honour, probably on June 27th, by her family”.
A local resident said the girl was shot dead.
Muhammad said the suspected assassins among them Nagmas' uncle and his son were arrested.
So-called honour killings are reported every year in Pakistan.
