As a result of rising temperatures, the Emergency Centre at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo is facing increasing the number of patients seeking medical treatment.
Cardiologists advise chronically ill patients to avoid exposure to the sun between 12 and 16 a.m.
Chronic patients, more specifically those with cardiac problems, lungs, or high blood pressure patients, should be careful at this time and avoid long exposure to the sun as well as receive therapy according to doctor's instructions, cardiologist Imri Jashar told Radio Kosovo.
“From European cardiologists' associations is the proposal to keep some elements in mind: the first element is patients who are with some high blood pressure or heart disease, prefer patients to treatment medication to be careful, because the high temperatures of over 30 degrees have reduced rapid pressure, heart rate disorders, dilaps to colaps”, Jashar told Radio Kosovo.
Also at the QKUK Emergency Centre, the number of patients seeking medical assistance has marked increases, said the caretaker doctor, Avdush Baygora.
According to him, the most frequent persons seeking assistance are the elderly who have cardio-vascular problems of the respiratory system, kidney disease and other persons.
Also attached are children, so that the flow of patients by day is growing more and more daily than temperature rising. Chronic patients if they observe any deterioration of their health should immediately be shown to the nearest physician to receive proper treatment, says cardiologist Imri Jashar.
