Firehouses, including a mass of pines in the village of Ndrancan, the Nkracan Administrative Unit, the Malakaster municipality, were reactivated.
During the night, high temperatures and strong wind had a fire reactivating on some charred pine trunks, and in the early hours of the morning, intense fires returned. The MZA local service in the Malakaster municipality, in co-operation with local Unit leaders, engaged by force and circumstantial means to extinguish fire. Because of the rugged terrain, there was no way to engage fire vehicles, Civil Emergency reports.
After a long and high-intensity job, firefighters in cooperation with the community have managed to extinguish the fires completely. An area of about 10 acres [10 ha] of bushes and pines was burned as a result of the fire. A total of about 30 acres [30 ha] of bushes, thorns, and pine trees have been burned during the three days of the fire. /Shultonline
