The European Union (BE) after setting a record fine of 2.4 billion euros to Google company due to the misuse of its dominant position in Internet research, it has recognised the 90-day deadline for changing its way, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
EU Commission member responsible for competition, Margrethe Vestager, in a statement stressing that the American company has violated competition rules in the marketing strategy, said “Google promoting its comparison services in research results and reducing opponents' visibility as a research engine has abused market dominance”.
This decision shows the seriousness of the abuse of Google company, which has been given a record fine of 2.42 billion euros and has been asked to carry out a “equal treatment” for opponents in trade services.
Among other things, Google has been reported that within 60 days it should announce the EU Commission on how to change this way of work and that within 90 days it should put it into effect. It also becomes known that the internet giant must implement this decision otherwise will be fined a fine of 12.5m euros a day.
To challenge this decision Google has two months.
