His party, SFIDA, emerged from the June 25th elections with 3.504 votes, failing to secure a deputy mandate for Parliament.
Its leader, Gjergj Bojaxhi, has reacted today with a Facebook status, congratulating the winner -- so the SP -- as it also announced his resignation from the party leader, taking responsibility for the outcome.
GERGGE BOJI:
Hello! Through this stance I first want to congratulate the winner of the 25 June political elections in Albania.
Second, as the political leader of the Challenge I want to state with conviction my responsibility for the unwanted outcome in the election. As a result, I declare my resignation from this party post. I appreciate that taking responsibility in words but without works would not be in the spirit for which the SFIDA was created.
Third, I have the conviction that only a just country is strong, not the opposite. So the goal as a society should not be to make a strong state with the weak, but equal before the law between the weak and the powerful, between the poor and the rich, between politicians and citizens.
That fourth I deeply thank all those citizens who trusted and supported us. Our mission follows and remains to conquer the policy of shopping and militantism.
The challenge has just begun!
