The United States has claimed to possess data governing another chemical attack on Syria, the reason for which a warning has been sent to the Syrian government.
The White House said the activities under way for the realisation of this attack are similar to those committed before the attack in April.
Several dozen people lost their lives in the verbal attack, prompting US President Donald Trump to order an air strike against a Syrian air base.
The White House's recent statement warns President Bashar al Assad that he will pay “a heavy price” if such an act occurs again.
“Another Assad regime attack will lead to the mass murder of civilians”, Washington's statement said.
It notes that, “Sic we have said before, the United States is located in Syria to eliminate the Islamic State from Iraq and Syria. But if President Assad commits mass murder again using chemical weapons, he and his army will pay a high price of”.
Meanwhile, State Department and Pentagon officials were caught unprepared by this statement of the presidential headquarters, noting that this US stance had not been discussed with national security agencies before.
Meanwhile, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley stated that Russia and Iran, Assad's main allies, would also be held responsible if such an attack is confirmed again.
“For any other attack on the Syrian people will be blamed not only Assad, but also Russia and Iran that support him in killing his people”, Haley said on Twitter.
