Also outside Albania's border in the Vjosa River basin have been very intense.
During today's Saturday (d.02.12.2017) to Sunday (d.03.12.2017), maximum 24-hour rainfall is expected to be averaged to intense. Signs of urban flood alert or of torrents and small rivers have been removed from the circuit sign because these floods have passed the critical point over the past night.
Warnings of continuing flooding by the Vjosa River in Fier and Vlora counties remain active. The recent hydrological estimates indicate that flood flooding from the Vjosa River will continue in the field parts of these rivers.
The major effects of flooding in field parts in Vlora and Fier counties will continue during today's and Saturday (d.02.12,2017). The Vjosa River will begin to withdraw to its natural bed during the end of Monday (d.04.12,2017).
In the upper parts of the basins in the counties (Elbasan, Gjirokastra and Berat) will decrease the risk of flooding.
This information will be updated by IGEUM according to future estimates, and you will be notified of any change in flood forecasts.
