First Russian gas tank arrives in Britain, US sanctions against Russia not implemented

Russian tank “Christophe de Margerie” has brought the first collection of liquid natural gas (LNG) from Yamal to the United Kingdom. London will have to return natural gas urgently, as it conflicts with US sanctions it has undertaken against Russia. A global positioning service puts the tank in Harwich [...]
A global positioning service puts the tank in Harwich on Wednesday, even though it had earlier shown that the ship was heading for the port of Isle of Gray in Kent, where it has a regasification terminal.
Earlier this month, Novak, one of the largest Russian gas producers, said he sold the 170,000 cubic metres LNG shipment to Petronas LNG UK Limited (PLUK), Malaysia's Great Britain branch Petronas.

Yamal LNG, located in the Russian Arctic, is a joint project of Russia's Novatech, Total France, National Oil Corporation and Silk Road Fund. Novatech owns 50.1 percent of the shares in this project, reports “RT” Transmission Periscope. Its partners have 20 per cent, 20 per cent and 9.9 per cent, respectively.
Great Britain suffered gas shortages after closing the most important route of fuel transport to the North Sea.
Ineos, a private company that owns a significant refinery near Aberdeen, said she found a rift in a 42-year-old vital oil and gas pipeline. The company said it would take two weeks to fix it.
The Yamal project has not been sanctioned directly by the EU, but in support of US sanctions in Brussels and London have imposed various restrictions on Russia that deprive its energy companies of finance and technology.
The measures inevitably affect innovation and development of new areas and supply mechanisms, which may ultimately compromise Russia's ability to supply gas to the rest of Europe./Periscopi/
