The issue of fake news spread in the US during the recent presidential campaign, news confirmed to be distributed by Macedonia's Veles, has caused a Facebook worker to visit this city.
Murtade Al-Tameemi, software engineer, tells about his stay in Macedonia, as well as his special visit to the city of Veles, Telegrafi reports Macedonia.
He says he has come to Macedonia without having any knowledge of this country, not even knowing how to pronounce Skopje's name, but stresses that he has encountered in the people's courtesy, even though the country is mentioned as a producer of false news and has incentives to the ISIS.
Al-Tameem has spent three days in Macedonia in a civil society worker. On the first day, Facebook engineer met three women who were involved in developing a programme for harassment victims known as bulimism, as well as journalists who target a fact-based approach to journalism.
On the second day, Tamem visited Veles, where he met a person who openly admitted that he was paid to create more than 100 websites, now publishing sensational news targeting U.S. utraconserators.
The web site's creator has been uncocococatic about the bad impact of his work, compared to his Facebook programmers, even though he has considered it to be unrealistic. /Telegraphy/
