There are fully 60 deputy ministers appointed at least so far, at 21 ministries in Haradinaj Government. The ministry that holds the accord for the largest number of deputy ministers is the Ministry of Labour and Social Management, with six.
But some who are now deputy ministers had initially failed no further than months earlier. Six mayoral candidates had failed in municipalities where they competed, they had not even managed to secure votes to compete for the second round, writes Insander.
Xhavit Zariqi, Heset Sahiti, Fatmir Gashi, Faruk Nura, Besnik Hoti, and Isa Xhemajlaj are the candidates who failed to become mayor while later being appointed deputy prime minister in Haradinaj Government.
Xhavit Zariqi, from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, had tried to become chairman of Ferizaj but had failed. He ended up in fourth position as the most voted candidate.
Zariqi failed to win more than 2 thousand and 289 votes, or 4.49 per cent of the vote. While later he was appointed deputy minister of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Heset Sahiti, from the Initiative for Kosovo, had a candidate for mayor of Lipjan, but failed. He ended up as the last candidate. He did not win more than a thousand and 23 votes. And then Sahiti was appointed Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.

The next important post received Fatmir Gashi at Haradinaj Government. Gashi was appointed deputy minister at the Ministry of Finance. The latter failed to become head of Pec. He was defeated in the first round after receiving 13 thousand and 980 votes, or 31.90 per cent of the vote.

Isa Xhemajlaj from the Kosovo Initiative tried for the second time in a row to become chairman of Drenas. Even this time he was defeated by Ramiz Ladrovci, this time in the first round. But after losing in Drenas, Xhemajlaj was appointed deputy minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Xhemajlaj failed to win more than 5 thousand 800 votes, or 24.33 per cent in local elections.

Faruk Nura, ran for president of the Year by the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo. He did not win more than a thousand and 72 votes, failing to become mayor of this municipality. However, Nura also became deputy minister. There was room for him at the Ministry of Diaspore and Strategic Investments.

Another mayoral candidate had failed to meet his goal during local elections. Faithful Hoti ran for head of Rahovez. He was voted in at least by all candidates. Hoti won only 295 votes.
However, the small number of votes for a mayoral candidate was not an obstacle for Hoti to be appointed deputy prime minister. He was appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. /Insider. com
