The attack occurred in the village of al-Rawda, west of al-Arish, shortly after Friday's prayers.
Egyptian media reported numerous deaths, citing an official source of security. They also disclosed that 80 people were injured in this deadly attack.
Local media reports said the attackers had imposed explosives and then opened fire on the Jeremiahs while preaching was in the process, reports “Al Jazeera”, Periscopi broadcast.
Egypt is fighting an armed move on the broken and poor Sinai Peninsula, which took up the pace after the army ousted President Mohammed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood in mid-20 2013.
Local media also announced the closure of the Arish-Rafah road to the east.
The attack comes a day before Rafah's border crossing, the main gate for Palestinians at the Gaza Strip to infiltrate the outside world, had opened for a period of 3 days.
The border opened briefly earlier this week./Periscopi/
