Over 15 thousand Kosovars received negative visa answers to the Schengen area during 2016.

According to official data published on SchengenVisaInfo. com and received by the European Union, in terms of the number of visas Schengen issued through the consulates of member states for applicants from Kosovo during 2016, the numbers of negative responses are very high.

Out of 77,796 citizens of the Republic of Kosovo who applied for visas Schengen during 2016, according to these data, 19.7% or 15,315 applicants have been denied visas to enter the Schengen area.

Slovenia, Germany and Switzerland are the highest percentage of rejections.

27.7% of applicants, or a total of 1,022 negative answers, have been given to Kosovo citizens from Slovenia, the Inseder reports.

Germany is second with 25.4%, or a total of 6,760 negative answers. Switzerland is third with 19.8%, or a total of 5,097 negative answers.
