One of the clear signs of political opportunism is that in parallel with particles physics, it can be called political conglomerationism.

Let's imagine that me and my enemy, both of us, keep in our hands from a ball, which may be either white or black, but none of us see its color. Like it's also, none of us are allowed to look at the ball in his hand, so we have four options: White-and-white, black, black-Black, and white-sy. Now let's assume that for some reason, we both know that the two balls (one in my hand, and one in my enemy's hand) are different in color in this case, there are only two possibilities (nobles and whites). And, like by chance, I know the color of the ball in my enemy's hand. I will automatically know the color of my ball because the two balls are in order with each other. (That's when particles are divided and their spins remain fixed if I measure the spin of one particle, you know the other's spin. )

Something similar usually happens in (most in May) politics. When we are not sure what position we should maintain in a certain political crisis, and when we learn the opponent's position, then we automatically take the opposite position. Someone might say Lenin has offered a strict criticism of this stand (ironically attacking Rose Luxembourg). Such was the case with the Cold Cultural War when, in the late 1940 ' s, Western culture was perceived as promotional of universal cosmopolitanism (under Jewish influence), pro-Sovytic Communists (from the USS to France) decided to become patriots, promoting their cultural tradition and attacking imperialism. So, just to be against Western cosmopolitanism.

Is not something similar happening with the response to the Catalonas referendum? Remember how Putin declared the Soviet Union's deintegration to be a megacal? Now, he's backing Catalonia's independence. The same is true of all European leftists who opposed Yugoslavia's desigration as a result of the dark plot between Germany and the Vatican. Now in Catalonia, as in Scotland, separation is considered acceptable.

And neither are Western centrists liberals better -- ever more willing to support any separatist movement threatening Russia's geopolitical power -- they are already declaring themselves against the threat of unity of Spain (and hypocritically condemn police violence against Catalan voters, of course).

In Slovenia, my country, has reached its climax: the old May, which until the end was against Slovenia's independence, demanding a more open and re-united Yugoslavia, is already organising petitions and demonstrations for Catalonia, until the nationalist right that fought for Slovenia's independence is silently opposed to the unity of Spain (until the prime minister of Spain is their conservative colleague, Mariano Rajoy).

We can simply say: shame for European institutions clearly, some have the right to sovereignty and some not, depending on geopolitical interests...

An argument against Catalonia's independence, however, seems quite rational: is Putin's support for Catalonia's independence clearly part of his strategy to strengthen Russia by simultaneously working on the deintegration of European unity? Should supporters of a united and strong Europe thus advance for the unity of Spain?

Here, we can dare turn the argument upside down. The support of Spain's unity can be said to be part of the constantly rising movement for empowering nations against European unity. What is needed to accommodate the new local sovereigns (of Catalonia, Scotland and so on) is simply a more powerful European Union of nations must learn themselves for a more modest role as a mediator between regional autonomy and United Europe. In that sense, Europe can avoid weakening conflicts between states and strengthen as an international agent in scheme with other major geopolitical blocs.
