Former President of the Republic of Kosovo Fatmir Sejdiu during yesterday has had a heart surgery.
The Express reports that Sejdiu was involved in the coronary artery on Wednesday, following deteriorating health conditions. Now, after surgery, his condition is stable.
The former president of Kosovo, who had assumed the highest post in the country following Ibrahim Rugova's death in 2006, was operated at the American Hospital in Pristina. As the newspaper from officials in this hospital finds out, he has been placed with a coronary artery, or as he is otherwise known ʹby-pass.
Sejdiu has also led the Democratic League as well after Ibrahim Rugova's death, coming to its helm in 2006.
Sejdiu had also led Kosovo status talks in Vienna, which were held with the Serbian side with international mediating and since 2008 had resulted in Kosovo's declaration of independence.
