The Government's decision to pardon debts for water ambalnizers, according to organisation director “Arise”, Arton Demhaja, is a tendency of the government led by Ramush Haradinaj to establish ties with these businesses.
Demhaya, in an interview for “Kahren”, has estimated that such a decision is arbitrary and that it has produced a precedent, which other companies can exploit by not paying taxes to the state. According to him, the standard set by this decision is dangerous and creates an unfair competition between taxes-paying businesses and non-payers.
For Demhayan, the decision to which 59m euros are being paid has been unnecessary when it is known that there is a law in Kosovo for the pardon of public debts. According to him, if it proves that there is no other option that would force citizens or businesses to pay those debts, then certain criteria and conditions must be created for their forgiveness rather than go to the names of companies, citizens, or individuals, and their decisions are forgiven.
Demhasey has said that the investigator should handle this case and see if there is any criminal offence, since, according to him, it is possible that any influential individual in Government has influenced the decision.
