Trump: Hormuz Strait open to all except Iran

American President Donald Trump has withdrawn from his proposal for a 20% fee for ships using the Hormuz Strait area.
Posting on his Social Truth platform, the American president commits to retaining blockade of Iranian ports.
But he said he would replace what he called a “Tarife restoration of 20% of the United States” with trade deals and investment with Gulf states in the region.
Just yesterday, Trump proposed the tax, apparently in response to regular Iranian threats to impose a fee for ships using the post-war straits.
Hormuz Bay is open to all ship traffic except Iran, and because of their lying, violent and malicious leadership, which is leading them on their way to THE SHOW TOTAL. That's why we're going to have a PLODA, but only for ships that come from and to Iranian ports, or carrying anything that has to do with Iranian cargo”, Trump wrote.
The Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear weapons have remained the main points of obstacle in negotiations to achieve a lasting ceasefire.
Trump insists Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, while Iran has repeatedly stressed that it aims to control the strait and asks international shipping fees to use it.
Iran's effective Strait blockade during this year's war has increased global energy prices, forcing Trump to negotiate.
Before the war, the straits carried a fifth of the world's oil and gas shipments. /Telegraphy/
