Operation “Mechanism” in Saranda, 31-year-old arrested with four machine firearms

Albania's police have published details from the operation codenamed “Mechanism”, developed by police structures in Saranda in co-operation with other operational entities.
The operation was finalised following a special-tech investigation under the Prosecution's direction, with the aim of identifying and preventing persons allegedly risking public safety and involvement in criminal activities.
As a result of the action, police have arrested a 31-year-old member of the K.B. initials, residents of Tirana, influenza.
According to the authorities, the vehicle leading the young man was kept under police surveillance, while his ban was carried out in the Skrqa tunnel.
During the vehicle's search, effectives have found hidden four firearms, allegedly introduced to Albania in separate parts and were then deliberately mounted to sell to a criminal group in Saranda.
Investigations continue to fully whiteen the network involved in this activity and identify other persons suspected of having a role in the case.
Police have indicated that the operation is part of commitments to prevent criminal activities and ensure citizens' safety.
