After Gashi's appointment as chief prosecutor, the British Embassy reacts: Ensure an independent, transparent and accounting system

The British Embassy in Kosovo has reacted following Zejnula Gashi's appointment as chief state prosecutor.

They have congratulated Gashi, success in implementing measures for the prosecutorial system in Kosovo to be transparent and accounting independent.

“We welcome the appointment of the new head of state, after a period of several years without this fulfilled position. We urge Chief State Prosecutor Zejnullah Gashi, success in implementing the necessary measures to ensure that Kosovo's prosecutorial system functions as an independent, transparent and accounting institution, exercising its prosecutorial functions effectively and efficiently, strengthens the rule of law and contributes to the fight against organised crime and corruption, in behalf of all citizens”, the British Embassy has written.

Gashi has been decreed as chief state prosecutor by Kosovo President Albulen Haxhiu's Task Agent after receiving the majority of votes from the KKP.

He has received his mandate yesterday by Chief State Prosecutor Agron Qalaj's Task Agent, while saying that “will be the chief prosecutor of all”.
