Joseph: Co-operation with the US on Gas Brings Security, Rejection Brings Effects

American Professor Edward P. Joseph has declared that the Government of Kosovo should accept the US gas project and co-operate closely with the United States of America in the field of energy.

According to him, such a project would directly affect Kosovo's energy security and strengthening relations with the US.

“Yes. The Kosovo government must accept it and work with the US Embassy and US government officials and must admit it. And there is no reason not to do so because it has to do with energy security for Kosovo. So, yes, you have coal, but coal is very damaging and there are many negative factors. For coal, it is not something that brings Kosovo into the future. And bringing natural gas through a pipeline from northern Macedonia, you are not building dependence, but you are building a wider energy security umbrella for Kosovo. And I really don't understand why the Kosovo government doesn't do that and that would be a way to build relations with this administration of Trump”, he said.

Joseph has also said that failure to co-operate in this project could have consequences for Kosovo's citizens, stressing reduced energy security and greater distance from the United States.

The American professor has commented on political developments in the region, including statements by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who has said Milan Radojici is being prosecuted because of Kosovo and not for the attack on Banjska.

He called his position irresponsible by seeking accountability.

Joseph has stressed that greater pressure is needed from the US and the EU on Serbia to whiteen violent events and respect for international agreements, including the attack on Banjska. /Kosovo priss
