(2 hours ago)A person was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning, following a police chase that started in Rahovec and ended up in Gjakova after allegedly rejecting police orders to stop and attempted to hit police officials by vehicle.
Police spokeswoman for the Gjakova region, Values Krasniqi, has confirmed the news.
According to her, during routine checks in the village of Krusha, Rahovec, the driver of a vehicle has disobeyed the police's command to stop.
Police officers have been tracking him and, with the support of other units, have attempted to stop him on the PrizrenGjakov magistrate's route, but he has again refused to stop and tried to hit police officials”, Krasniqi has announced.
She added that during the pursuit by another police patrol on “Gasper Karaqi” in Gjakova, the suspect has hit the official police vehicle, causing a traffic accident involving a civilian vehicle.
After the accident, the suspect has tried to walk away, but has been detained and escorted to the police station.
“In co-ordination with the state prosecutor, cases of general risk cause have been initiated against him and APUum against the official person while it was detained for 48 hours”, Krasniqi confirmed.
