Joseph criticises the political class for lack of consensus: Kurti bears primary responsibility

American professor Edward P. Joseph, has criticised the political class in Kosovo for lack of institutional consensus.
According to him, incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti holds the main responsibility after leading the parliamentary majority, but according to him, all other political leaders also have responsibilities.
If the political leaders, and again I'm speaking in plural, I'm not just saying that Prime Minister Kurti has responsibility, he has the main responsibility, because he controls most of the votes in Parliament, and that's a parliamentary decision. But, all of them bear responsibility and voters, I will say, voters should punish all political leaders who do not find a consensus, because this is damaging the country”, he said.
He praised that the current situation does not violate Kosovo's stability, but undermines the country's democratic development.
“Stability is a question, while democratic development, these are two different things. I don't believe this affects stability and I don't want to say this, because I believe Kosovo is a stable country and a stable democracy”, the professor said.
However, Joseph said the political blockade represents a negative signal to democracy.
The Republic of Kosovo is such and I support it, as well as support Kosovo's entry into NATO, for which I have been one of the strongest supporters. As for democratic development, it's terrible, it's clear, the answer is clear, this is not a good example of democratic development and we need to point it over here, it's not like a typical parliamentary cramp, as Belgium once did, a one-year-old fattie. That is the situation when you have a very narrow majority, but here you have a party that has a clear” ability, he said.
