Citizen refuses to pull over for control, hits police car in Gjakova

A citizen, during routine police raids in the village of Krusha of Rahoveci, has refused to stop at the checkpoint, while police officials with the support of other units have attempted to stop him on the Prizren-Gjakovi magistrateal road.

The suspect has refused to stop and has tried to hit police officials, police spokeswoman for the Gjakova region, Edin Krasniqi.

“While tracking from another police patrol on “Gasper Karaqi” in Gjakova, the suspect has hit the official police vehicle, causing traffic crash involving a civil vehicle”, she said.

After the accident, the suspect has tried to escape on foot, but has been detained and escorted to the police station.

“In co-ordination with the state prosecutor, cases “are initiated against him Cause of total risk” and “The attack on the official person”, while it has been detained for 48 hours”, Krasniqi said.
