Ankara is wrapping up preparations for organising the NATO Summit, to be held on July 7th and 8th, as Turkish media have published the first details on US President Donald Trump's visit and his agenda with President Recep Tayip Erdogan.
According to reports, Trump is expected to arrive in the Turkish capital on 7 July, accompanied by a large American delegation. Security and logistical teams have been preparing for a visit for days.
Under the programme, the first official US president's stop will be at Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, where he will place a wreath of flowers and pay tribute.
Later, Trump will be hosted at the Presidential Palace by President Erdogan, where the official welcoming ceremony will be held.
After the ceremony, the two leaders are expected to initially hold a face-to-face meeting, which will be followed by talks between the two countries' delegations. The focus of discussions is expected to be bilateral relations, security issues, co-operation within NATO, as well as regional and international developments.
Turkish media report that, after the end of the meeting, the possibility of Trump and Erdogan holding a joint press conference is not ruled out, while the signing of several co-operation agreements is being considered.
Under the NATO Summit, the Defence Industry Forum, at the ATO Congress Centre in Ankara, will take place 7 July. NATO officials, representatives of governments and heads of key defence industry companies are expected to participate in the event, with the aim of strengthening partnerships and co-operation in the defence sector. /Panorama
