Jurgen Klopp for Germany's cancelled goal: In case it is irregular, Arsenal sé would be English champion

Jurgen Kupp has sharply criticised the VAR's decision to annul Germany's ongoing goal of Paraguay following the shocking elimination of four-time world champions in the 1/16th phase of the 2026 World Cup final.
Germany was eliminated after the loss of the penalty against Paraguay after the 1-1-to 120-minute draw, but the Germans remain angry about Jonathan Tah's goal at the extra time, which could have proved crucial to the qualifications.
After the VAR's intervention, Judge Jalal Jayed decided to cancel the goal, praising that Waldemar Anton had caused foul to Paraguay's goalkeeper, Orlando Gill, during the action, Telegraph reports, broadcast Periscope.
Clopp, who worked as analyst for Magenta TV during the World Cup, did not hide his dissatisfaction with this decision and also made an ironic comment in the direction of Arsenal.
If that goal is irregular, then Arsenal wouldn't be England's king”.
“They've scored 60 percent of their goals exactly that way”.
We win the game when the ball goes into the net. So, of course, this is brutal”, Clopp said.
The Arsenal had become known during the 2025/26 season for its efficiency in standard situations, especially from angle shocks, while also receiving criticism from rivals for the way these shares are exploited.
Even E expert SPN for VAR, Andy Davies, estimated there was not enough contact to cancel Tah's goal.
This was not an unfair impasse from Anton and the goal should have been accepted. It was a weak intervention by the VAR and a decision just as disappointing by the game's referee to change the original decision and cancel goal”.
The German protector had the right to hold his position in this situation, whereas in fact it was Paraguay's goalkeeper who crashed into the German player and fell as soon as he felt the contact, rather than as a result of a real foul by Anton”.
