The assassination of imam in Dragash, Prizren's Prosecution gives details: Suspect and his father were arrested

The communiqué adds that, the B.H. suspect, has been detained for 48 hours, due to the suspicion based on having committed criminal work “heavy murder”, and, likewise, has been banned for 48 hours and his father, due to suspicion of committing criminal work “the failure to hire”.

The victim's lifeless body has been sent to the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) in Pristina. Based on the initial investigation data, on June 29, 2026, around 23:15, Kosovo Police have reported a murder case in the village of Zlipotok, the Dragas municipality. The victim, who was an imam of the village, has been deprived of life by sharp means. The victim's death was recorded by the doctor at the scene.

After receiving the information, at the site of the event, the supervisory prosecutor has emerged from the Randa Crime Department, which, in close co-operation with the Regional Investigation Sector and other relevant units of the Kosovo Police, has undertaken all necessary investigative actions aimed at fully lighting the circumstances of this criminal case.

Suspect B.H., after committing the criminal act, was initially on the run, but as a result of the Kosovo Police's intensive operational action has been located and arrested.

At the state prosecutor's decision, the B.H. suspect has been detained for 48 hours, due to the suspicion based on having committed criminal work “grave murder”, according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. Also, his father has been detained for 48 hours, due to suspicion based on the commission of criminal activity “the failure to assist”, according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

The victim's lifeless body has been sent to the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) in Pristina.

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren, in co-operation with the Kosovo Police, is continuing intensive investigations into clarifying the motives and full circumstances of this event.

Within the legal deadline, the prosecution will apply for the appointment of the detention measure against suspects. /Periscope
