“RTK has become a propaganding machine”, AGK reacts following journalist's resignation

The association of Kosovo Journalists (AGK) has reacted following journalist Arlinda Seyda's resignation from Kosovo Radio Television (RTK), naming the case as indications of continued political and managerial pressure on the public broadcaster.
The AGK has expressed regret over Seida's departure, which has been working for 10 years in RTK, praising that her decision is linked to the inability to exercise a profession according to professional and ethical standards.
According to AGK, this situation is the result of management policies in RTK that, reportedly in response, are affecting freedom of journalism and editorial independence.
The removal of Seida and the removal of the emissions of some journalists and editors are due to management policies that punish and persecute anyone who aims to respect the fundamental principles of the ethics of the profession”, said the AGK response.
The AGK has also stated that RTK has turned into a <x0mmic propaganda”, stressing that media freedom in Kosovo is on the decline.
“RTK has now turned into a self-propagand self-determination machine through editorial policies that censor critical voices inside and outside of the medium”, it is further said.
In response, AGK has called on the Government of Kosovo and the Vetevendosje Movement to stop, reportedly, political and financial pressure on RTK, as well as requested by the Board of State. RTK to exercise his institutional responsibilities.
The AGK has expressed full solidarity with journalist Seida and other public broadcaster journalists, stressing the need to return reporting in service of public interest./ Periscope.
