International Children's Day marked

Today, it is June 1st, the International Children's Day, a day dedicated to promoting children's rights and welfare.

This day has roots in international child protection efforts strengthened following the adoption of the Declaration of Child Rights in 1959 and the Convention on Child Rights in 1989 by the UN.

However, global data shows that challenges remain great. Tens of millions of children continue to have no access to education, while millions of others face food poverty and difficult living conditions. And hundreds of millions of girls worldwide have faced early marriages, a phenomenon that directly violates their rights and healthy development.

These statistics prove that, despite progress, constant commitment is needed to ensure a more secure and just future for every child.

In the case of June 1st, International Children's Day, the Pristina municipality and ETEA organise public activity: “Beyond the holiday: We're talking about the safety of the kids in school” /Periscopi/
