The woman in Venezuela is born under ruins (VIDEO)

A mother was born under the ruins of a collapsed building in Venezuela that was destroyed by a series of devastating earthquakes.


Hundreds of people were killed and thousands were left homeless after two powerful earthquakes struck the country Wednesday evening.

A video is on the Internet showing a woman lying on a board in the ground surrounded by people in the dark. Another woman helps her to give birth and brings forth a crying baby. The woman who bore the baby fell on her knees and wrapped her up in a newborn, while others gathered together and covered her mother with blankets.


Two earthquakes in less than a minute

More than 250 buildings collapsed after so-called twin earthquakes two quakes that struck one after another only 39 seconds apart. The first quake was 7.2, the second 7.5. Thousands of people were trapped in ruins.

According to official figures, 589 people have been confirmed dead, 2,980 injured and 57,000 missing. However, the US Geological Service estimates that as many as 10,000 people may have died in disaster.
