Trump reopens negotiations with Iran, urges changes to nuclear agreement

US President Donald Trump has returned to review the draft proposed agreement with Iran after a meeting with his advisers Friday, extending negotiations for another week.
According to American officials, the changes required by Trump are related to strengthening language in the document, particularly Iran's nuclear commitments and regional security issues, including Hormuz Strait.
The American president has also expressed concerns about financial assistance that Iran may be given under the agreement, comparing it with previous practices he has sharply criticised.
Although Trump had earlier declared that the agreement was “largely finalised”, discussions between the parties have continued without a final decision, while differences remain unclear.
The negotiations are expected to follow in the coming days, with the goal of reaching a final text agreed on by both sides.
