Severe clash between Arsenal and SPG fans

The fans of Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have flooded Budapest before today's (Saturday) final in the Champions League.

About 4,000 police officers will be on alert tonight, both at Pruskas Arenaa and on the streets of the city, to protect visitors and prevent clashes between rival fan groups.

However, there have been clashes Saturday evening between fans of two finalist clubs, and images have already become viral on all social networks.

It is feared that as many as 10,000 ticket-free fans can arrive in Hungary, eager to be near the stadium when the match takes place.

It is estimated that up to 45,000 other football fans will be in town until the start of the match, leading to the largest police mobilization in Budapest's history.

Security preparations for the last European season match began more than a year ago.

Authorities have consulted with counterparts in London and Paris, and officials also visited last year's final in Munich to monitor organisation and security operations. /Telegraphy/
