Relind Gervalla issues a warrant for RTK workers, including “lic” for political parties

U.D. RTK director Relind Gervalla has issued a new ordinance for public broadcaster employees, which prohibits any form of political engagement on social networks, including preferences (“”), comments and distribution of political content, writes Periscopi.
All RTK employees are said to be obliged to respect professional and ethical standards in the use of social networks, with the reasoning of maintaining editorial impartiality, institutional credibility and public trust in the public media.
This ordinance stipulates that employees should not show political support to any subject, party, candidate or political faction, whether through personal or public profiles on social networks.
This ban includes, but is not limited to: consent (likes), comments, distribution of articles, status, videos, photographs or other materials with political, party or propaganda content”, says the ordinance provided by Periscope.
It also stresses that professional neutrality should be maintained even outside direct engagement in the programme, as public perception of RTK's impartiality is influenced by individual behavior of staff in digital spaces.
Under Gervala's ordinance, any action that violates professional integrity or creates perceptions of political bias will be handled according to RTK's internal regulations. /Periscope/
