Lebanon's Prime Minister, Nawaf Salaam, accused Israel of pursuing a <x0polic of burned land” south of the country, calling for a halt to fighting, while Israel carried out new air strikes and issued warnings of evacuation for more than a dozen areas.
A day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that his forces had advanced deeper into Lebanese territory, his Lebanese counterpart warned that the country is facing a dangerous “ ” scale and demanded a <x2ndmmmedm rapid and true”.
In a televised address, Salam accused Israel of following a <x0polics of burned land and collective punishment” through “destruction of cities and villages and forcing their residents to flee homes”.
According to him, this approach will not bring Israel “as security and neither stability”, reports Theuardiaan Periscope broadcasts.
However, he defended his government's commitment to dialogue with southern neighbours, as military delegations from the two countries held security talks in Washington on Friday, while other US-mediated negotiations are scheduled for next week.

A ceasefire to stop fighting between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah officially went into effect on April 17th, but reports have never been fully respected.
Both Israel and Hezbollah accuse each other of violation of the ceasefire and justify their attacks with alleged wrongdoing on the other side.
An American statement issued after Friday's Israeli-Leban talks did not mention the ceasefire, but stressed that “productive military co-ordination” will serve as the basis for next week's political meeting.
Lebanese state news agency NNA reported on several Israeli attacks in the south of the country on Saturday, while the Lebanese Army announced that two of its soldiers “were seriously injured by a hostile Israeli threat” near the southern town of Nabatieh.
