Latvia issues warning to residents after discovering a threat in its airspace

The Latvian Armed Forces (NBS) have issued an alarm for residents after they discovered"at least one"pilot-free air carrier in their airspace.
In a statement posted on the X, the NBS initially warned of a possible"threat to"for airspace over the eastern regions of Ludza, Kr unjustlyslava, CHAzeknes and AugWhugavas, before confirming it had uncovered a threat.

If you notice an object flying low, suspicious or dangerous, do not approach it and call 112. We'll inform you when the threat is over", it said among other things.
The NBS said it had deployed additional units on Latvia's eastern border to strengthen air capacity.
On Wednesday, Lithuania's Vilnius airport was provisionally closed after the government announced a suspected threat to its airspace.
Lithuania's Defence Ministry said the fears had drawn close to Belarus and was discovered near the border. NATO aircraft rose in the air to identify the threat.
After the incident, European Commission President Ursula von der Leenen said that Russia's <x0) public threats against our Baltic states are totally unacceptable".
