Kosovo risks losing EU funds if implementing reform agenda delays

The European Commission has confirmed that it has not yet accepted the requirement for next payment from the Development Plan funds from Kosovo.
The deadline for submitting the application is 15 July, while the last day of June sets the deadline for implementing the reforms ahead for this period.
Delivering the request from local authorities is the procedure envisioned with the growth Plan rules, while adopting the payment of installments takes place after the European Commission positively evaluates the implementation of reforms.
The next “acati of the Kosovo report will be June 30th. The distribution of funds from the EU undergoes the assessment of the reform agenda's steps, as well as compliance with overall conditions and preconditions. With the deadline expired for 13 reforms on June 30th of this year, Kosovo risks losing funds if it does not progress in implementing the Reforms Agency”, a European Commission spokesman has declared, reports RTK, tranmiston. The value of reforms Kosovo must implement by 30 June totals over 90m euros. As European Commission officials have explained, the end of this year marks the deadline for another 27 reform steps, worth approximately 166m euros.
The European Commission has ordered that Kosovo should speed up implementation of the Reform Agreement to avoid losing these funds. Funds from the Development Plan, if lost, are irreversible and that applies to each Western Balkan state. /Periscope/
