First files published for UFOs

The Trump administration has published the first long-awaited file group to UFOs, publicizing hundreds of videos, photographs and documents that had never been seen by the public before.

The materials were declassified several months after the president ordered War Secretary Pete Hegseth to open government data related to the UFOs and alleged alien activities.

Among the most commented material are several images and transcripts linked to NASA's Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 missions. A photograph shot from the moon's surface shows three unexplained points in the dark sky above the natural satellite.

The publication also includes images of the FBI from New Year's Eve in 1999, where reports indicate unidentified items near American military aircraft. The file also includes photos captured by military pilots, allegedly showing high - speed objects by passing by aircraft.

Republican lawmaker Tim Burchett, who has long called for transparency on this issue, said this publication is only the beginning and that other documents are expected to follow.

One of the declassified military reports describes the case of a member of the service who had observed “several bright” moving rapidly from the west to the northeast. According to the document, one of the objects was followed for about 20 seconds with a board targeting system before it suddenly faded and disappeared.

Authorities have stressed that the descriptions in these documents reflect witness testimony and should not be interpreted as confirmation of the nature or capabilities of reported objects.

In the statement accompanying the publication, Hegseth said the administration is committed to bringing an unprecedented level of transparency on how the government handles reporting for UFOs.

Several pieces of documents have been edited to protect the identity of witnesses and sensitive military whereabouts, while officials said no information directly linked to reported incidents has been hidden.

Also included in the files is a fragment of the Gemini V mission transcript II, where astronaut Frank Borman reported seeing an unidentified object in space. The document also contains references to NASA records and notes showing audio parts where the exchange is caught.

Another document sums up statements by seven federal officers, who independently reported that they had seen some unidentified air phenomena in the western United States during two days in 2023. Some of them described the “sfera that released other spheres”, a large lighty object that was hovering and a semitransparent form compared to a transparent “balon”.

Other reports include evidence from military personnel, among them a case in which an American operator claimed to have seen an unidentified object flying a little over the ocean surface and making strong 90 degrees at an estimated speed of about 80 miles per hour.

One of the published images seemed to show a brilliant circular object within the target of a military system, although officials said the description should not be interpreted as confirmation of nature or the importance of the object.

A U.S. Navy report, known as “Range Fouler Report”, documents a round and cold object tracked with infrared sensors, which reportedly moves northwest and carried out unexpected direction changes.

FBI Director Kash Patel described the publication as a historic moment for transparency over unidentified air phenomena, saying the American public is taking extensive access to declassified government files on the subject for the first time.

Even the administrator NASA, Jared Isaacman, welcomed the initiative, stressing that the agency will continue to follow scientific data, share what it knows, and be clear to what remains unexplainable.

Lawmakers have announced that this is only the first group of documents, while other publications are expected to follow. However, a clear deadline for publishing the following files has not yet been set./ P ERISCOPI/
