US Resumes Attack on Iran, Trump Threatens to Attack Subterranean Nuclear Plant

The US Central Command (Centcom) said the wave of attacks was “designed to continue degrading Iran's ability to threaten commercial ships” in the Hormuz Strait, a vital main maritime route.

Centcom said in a statement that US forces had targeted Iranian military operations centres, sea capabilities, aircraft barns, drone storage facilities and military logistical infrastructure.

He also accused Iran of attacking “more than 30 commercial ships” that passed through the Hormuz Strait over the past three months.

Iranian state media reported that air defence was activated in the capital, Tehran. Blasts were also reported in Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak and in Bushehr, where Iran's only nuclear power plant is located.

Iran, which has retaliated against the US and its allies in the Middle East, warned of revenge after Donald Trump said the US would soon hit an underground nuclear power plant near Nataz.

Iran and the US agreed to a ceasefire in April, but the attacks resumed last week as the two countries fought for Hormuz' control.

Kuwait's army said early Wednesday morning that its air defence was facing threats from Iran, while Bahrain and Jordan said they had also seized attacks on fears and rockets.

Earlier, the US president said the future military target could be a complex known as Piccaxe Mountain, an underground nuclear power plant where Iran is allegedly building an undeclared uranium enrichment facility.

“We will strike that area very quickly and very powerful”, Trump said during a meeting at the White House with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
