Strong winds, hail of rain: IHMK gives storm alarm all over Kosovo today

Kosovo's Hydrometeorological Institute (IHMK) has issued an orange-level meteorological warning for the present day, suggesting that the entire territory of Kosovo is expected to be involved in the local thunder storm.
According to the IHMK report, powerful conflict developments are expected throughout the day, which in some regions will be accompanied by intense rainfall, hail and strong storm-like winds.
The institute warns that weather conditions can cause high risk from lightning shocks, with potential consequences for humans and animals, as well as damage to the electromagnetic network, power supply cuts, and barriers to telecommunications systems.
There is also the danger of rapid local flooding in areas where rainfall will be more intense, while hail and strong winds can cause damage to targets, vehicles, infrastructure and agricultural cultures. The IHPC has also warned of increased fire risk as a result of atmospheric discharges.
Under the recommendations, citizens are required to avoid being in open environments during storms, not being sheltered under lonely trees, by electrical poles or metal objects, as well as to protect vehicles and property from hail and strong winds.
The institute calls on drivers to show increased caution in communications due to reduced visibility and slippery roads, while citizens follow the announcements and instructions of competent institutions until the warning period is complete.
According to IHMK, the warning is in effect from 0000 to 23:59 on July 22nd, while the institute has announced that it will continue monitoring the weather situation and, according to the need, will publish further updates.
