CEC today casts lots for party rankings on election balloting

Central Election Commission (KQZ) today organises attracting lots for ranking political subjects on balloting in the June 7th elections.
According to the announcement, this event will take place starting at 11:00 in Pristina.
The numbers with which political parties will compete in parliamentary elections will be determined in this process.
In the last parliamentary elections, the Vetevendosje Movement had competed with the number 116, the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 130, the Democratic League of Kosovo with 123, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo with 129, while the 122 Initiative.
Likewise today, at 1:30 p.m., at the CEC facilities, the next meeting of this institution will be held, where various preparation issues of these elections are in order.
At this meeting, the CEC is expected to certificate candidates of political subjects participating in the June 7th elections, as well as approve design and content of the balloting for outside Kosovo.
Under the deadlines approved by the CEC, the election campaign for political subjects and parliamentary candidates, which will last 10 days and 7 hours, will not start immediately after the lots for long numbers on the ballot.
The Central Election Commission has decided that the election campaign period for political subjects and certified candidates will begin on May 28th and end at 6:59 am on June 7th 2026, CEC officials had declared.
Otherwise, Kosovo's 10th Parliament legislature has been disbanded on 28 April, after this legislative institution failed to elect Kosovo's new president under official terms.
Thus, Kosovo President Albulen Hadziu's applicant, after a meeting with representatives of parliamentary political parties, announced the day of early elections for June 7th.
