Deadly Earthquake in Venezuela, rescue teams take 12-year-old alive after five days in ruins

An international rescue team has managed to take alive a 12-year-old boy who was trapped in ruins for five days after the powerful earthquake hit Venezuela.
The news was announced by the rescue search team Usar Ecuy-01, which, in co-ordination with the company of the Dominican Republic, saved Carlos in the Macuto district, in the coastal town of La Guaira.

Meanwhile, more than 100 Venezuelan citizens, recently repatriated by the United States, were at a hotel in the coastal town of La Guairas when the country was hit by two powerful earthquakes, which caused thousands of casualties.
Some of the survivors have confessed to the scene of chaos, showing that many people were trapped in ruins. The deportation flight, launched by Miami, had arrived just hours earlier with 146 Venezuelan citizens on board, among them 19 women and seven children.
According to the ICE Flight Monitor, an initiative of the Human Rights First organisation that monitors repatriation flights, passengers were temporarily arranged at an accommodation facility, where they would spend the night before returning to their homes.
According to the preliminary balance released by Venezuelan authorities, the number of victims from the earthquake has exceeded 1,700, while thousands of others result in injuries or displaced persons.
