Bedri Hamza promises to link Kosovo with American gas to end expensive energy import

Candidate for Prime Minister The PDK, Bedri Hamza, has said that as prime minister it will immediately start the project to connect Kosovo with regional natural gas corridors and build strategic energy partnerships with the United States.
He has said that the Government has refused to link Kosovo to American natural gas (LNG), leaving the country dependent on expensive and more energy insecure imports.
Hamza has shown that in the past five years alone, Kosovo has spent about 1 billion euros on electricity imports.
This is the full status of PDK Prime Minister Bedri Hamza:
Time to link Kosovo to American gas and end dependence on expensive energy imports!
Kosovo today is paying more expensive energy than ever before. Families are facing higher and higher bills, while businesses are losing competitiveness.
For years, the Government has refused to link Kosovo to American natural gas (LNG), leaving the country dependent on expensive and more energy-inspective imports.
In the past five years alone, Kosovo has spent about 1 billion euros on electricity imports. This is the most clear evidence that the country cannot continue to rely on expensive imports, but needs new, safer and affordable energy sources.
Today, Kosovo remains the only Western Balkan country that is not linked to natural gas networks. Meanwhile, the Alexandroupolis Skopje pipeline will bring the American LNG just about 15 kilometers from the Kosovo border, creating a real opportunity that should not be lost.
As prime minister, I will change that approach. We will immediately launch the project to connect Kosovo with regional natural gas corridors and build strategic energy partnerships with the United States of America.
This means more energy security, less pollution, more investment and more affordable energy for citizens and businesses. We cannot build modern economies with last century politics. Kosovo needs vision, not improvise!
