Balla: Albania model in integration, aim to close negotiations at 2027

The head of Albania's Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, told the media outside the Assembly that Albania is being assessed as a model in the European integration process and that the government's ambition is to wrap up negotiations with the European Union by 2027.
Balla stressed that the work of Albanian institutions under reforms has been positively assessed, especially in chapters 23 and 24, which relate to justice and the fight against organised crime.
This huge task done by many state institutions, involved in this process of addressing, is somehow approved of what we have called intermediate points. Among chapters 23-24 in EU history are those that open first and close last. From Germany's addresses, a leading country, it is said that Albania, with justice reform, organised crime, is a model for other countries, which aspire.
This important week ends tomorrow with the community of representatives. We had yesterday, it has been made public that Italy and Austria have come up with a proposal to accelerate the process for the countries of the Western Balkans, among them Albania. Spad membership does not harm us”, the head of the SP parliamentary group stressed, writes Euronews. al, broadcast Periscope.
According to Balla, the negotiation process requires political involvement, or the possibility of a referendum in the future.
Our “ambition is to close negotiations by 2027. At the end of 2027, negotiations are closed and then the ball is no longer the arm of the aspiring countries, but in the field of member states. This is the long process, requiring the involvement of the Parliament, may be required and the involvement of the people with the referendum.”, he said. /Periscope
