(a month ago)Following news that Albania has received a positive signal on the road to membership in the European Union, Brussels officially confirmed to A2 CNN that the draft of the EU joint position (EUCP), based on report I. BAR, approved in COLA without any opposition from member states.
“Draft of the EU's temporary common position ( The EUCP, based on IBAR), has just been approved in COLA without any further opposition from member states. The next step is to pass it by tomorrow afternoon for approval to EU ambassadors at COREPER, before the Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) is officially confirmed”, the European Union Council's response to A2 CNN said.
It becomes known that this approval will be officially confirmed holding the Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the European Union on 26 May.
