The niece of Qasem Solejmani, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who was killed by the US in 2020, was arrested by the US Migration and Customs Service along with her daughter, and both face deportation, the State Department announced today.
“While living in the United States, (Hamideh Soleiman Ashihar) promoted Iranian regime propaganda, celebrated attacks against American soldiers and military objects in the Middle East, praised the new Iranian Supreme Leader, denounced America as the Grand Satan, and expressed its firm support for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, an organisation designated as terrorist”, claimed the State Department in a statement, adding that Ashire had lived with her child in Los Angeles.
In a special post at X, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said both Ashire and her daughter had residence (Greek card) permits, which he had since revoted.
“The Trump administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign citizens who support anti-American terrorist regimes”, Rubio said in his post.
