Iran burys Ali Khamenei after mass mortar ceremonies

Iran held on Thursday the funeral ceremony of its murdered supreme leader, Ajatollah Ali Khamenei, in the holy city of Mashhad, wrapping up a week with ceremonies and massive mortore processions.
Khamene's body was transported to the Temple of Imam Rezai, where the last burial ceremony took place. Thousands of mourners dressed in black participated in the procession, waving Iranian flags, photos of the late leader and banners with revolutionary slogans.
Khamenei was killed on February 28th on the first day of the war in an air strike that Iran attributed to the United States and Israel. After his death, Iranian authorities organised a series of ceremonies in various cities, prior to the final burial in Mashhad.
Meanwhile, tensions between Iran and the US remain high, as Iranian forces have undertaken attacks on American targets in the Gulf region, jeopardising further escalation of conflict. /Periscope/
