FIFA issues with statement following claims that the World Cup is manipulated for Argentina

FIFA has reacted officially after the controversy erupted following Argentina's dramatic victory over Egypt in the 1/8th phase of the 2026 World Cup final.
The defending champions overturned the 2-0 disadvantage to win 3-2 in Atlanta, thanks to Cristian Romeros' goals, Lionel Mess and Enzo Fernandez. However, the match was accompanied by serious controversy over certain judges ' decisions.
The Egyptian Football Federation reacted sharply after the meeting, demanding exemption from the judge and the entire arbitration team from the World Cup. According to her, the judges committed <x0 clear errors"and refused to review several important incidents with the VAR.
The two moments that caused the most debate were the annulment of Mostafa Ziko's goal, after VAR recorded a foul to Lisandro Martinez at the beginning of the action, as well as Egypt's claim of a penalty against Mohammed Salah shortly before Enzo Fernandez's decisive goal in the 93th minute.
Following charges and theories for a favour with Argentina, the chief of judges at FIFA, Pierluigi Collin, came to the defense of judges.
The constructive definitions of decisions are part of football, but groundless accusations have no place in our sport. No one can question the integrity of World Cup judges”.
Collin added that no one can claim that FIFA arbitration is influenced by other people, stressing that judges make fair decisions and work independently.
Explaining the match's incidents, he said the VAR controls the entire offensive phase before any goal and that the intervention of Lisadro Martinez was a clear foul.
A foul is a foul. If the judge doesn't see him in the field, SUCH can intervene”, Television reports, broadcast Periscope.
In the case of Mohammed Salah, Collin explained that the judge and VAR concluded that contact with Julian Alvarez was a normal part of the game.
The defender first touched the ball and then had normal soccer contacts. No such face”
In conclusion, he acknowledged that some decisions remain subjective, but stressed that FIFA is satisfied with the way these principles have been implemented throughout the tournament.
Argentina will now face Switzerland in the quarterfinals of the World Cup, while the winner of this challenge will face the semifinal winner of the duel between England and Norway. /Periscope/
